Students can download a variety of software options onto their home computer. These software offerings can be helpful for online coursework and communicating with fellow classmates and professors. Click the links below for more information.

AVG - Requires user to provide information to receive serial number. AVG Free Edition is for private, non-commercial, single home computer use only.
Sophos Home (for Mac and PC) - Free Anti-virus for Mac's and PC's
Avast - Free Anti-virus is perfect for people who send e-mails and surf popular websites.
Safe Exam Browser
Safe Exam Browser controls access to resources like system functions, other websites and applications. It prevents unauthorized resources being used during bring your own device (BYOD) exam in the classroom. It is typycally used to texts within Moodle.
Exam4 from Extegrity is the exam administration software used by the Thompson Rivers University School of Law. The software locks a students computer from accessing the internet or accessing locally stored programs and files while the exam is in progress.
An FTP client allows you to connect directly to a remote file resource and transfer files to and from your local machine.
Adobe Acrobat Reader - This will allow you to view but not create an Acrobat .PDF file.
Photopea - A free web-based photo editor
7-Zip - This free utilitiy allows you to extract 7z, RAR, and zip files. You can use 7-Zip on any computer, including a computer in a commercial organization.
