All campus faculty, staff, and student lab desktop PC’s are leased on a four-year program. Click here to view current lease computer configuration.
Current leased computer options are HP Desktop, MS Surface Pro 4 (3 year lease only), Lenovo Laptop or Apple iMac. Approvals from the dean/chair/manager are required for the MS Surface Pro 4, Lenovo Laptop or Apple iMac option. Depending upon the model you choose, the division and/or end-user may be charged an additional cost to fund the lease.

IT Services has recommended computer specifications for purchase similar to the above models for leased options. Please contact Rita Hodge for more information.
IT Services does not support equipment that was purchased outside of the TRU IT Services/Purchasing process. Wired network access is not supported.
- Faculty may purchase computer equipment through Purchasing/IT Services.
- It is strongly recommended that a three-year warranty be purchased.
- Software available for download for home use through TRU campus agreements can be found at http://www.tru.ca/its/employees/software.html.
- The only way to connect to the TRU network would be through wireless, which in most cases will suffice. Printing to a network printer is possible through connection to the VPN (Virtual Private Network) also known as Remote Access.
For purchases made outside of the TRU IT Services/Purchasing process, support by IT Services may be limited. The equipment should go back to the place of purchase for repair.
