VPN Upgrade

IT Services will be upgrading the Global Protect VPN over the weekend of October 30th. Starting Monday November 1st at 7:30AM the new VPN client will be pushed out to users upon logging in.


  1. The upgrade process will start automatically when you you first log into Global Protect after the upgrade.
  2. During the installation, the VPN connection will be terminated and reestablished.
    After reconnecting to the Gateway, confirm the upgrade was complete by navigating to the hamburger icon in the top right corner of the Client and selecting About from the dropdown menu.


  3. The version number displayed should now reflect the newly installed Global Protect Client (Version 5.2.8-xx).


  4. After the upgrade is complete Global Protect should restart itself automatically and you will need to log back in. In the event that Global Protect does not restart you will need to start it up manually from your start menu.
