- Canadian Museum of Civilization—James Teit Collection of Interior Salish Artifacts
With a team of researchers, James Teit was hired in the late 1800s by Franz Boas and the American Museum of Natural History to collect artifacts and research the culture and language of Pacific North First Nations. James amassed most of the Interior Salish collection. He married Lucy Artko, a Nlaka'pamux woman, and settled in Spences Bridge in British Columbia.
