About Thompson Rivers University
TRU is a comprehensive, learner-centered, environmentally responsible institution that serves regional, national, and international learners and their communitites through high quality and flexible education, training, research and scholarship.
TRU has 25,000 students learning throughout our campuses in Kamloops; Williams Lake and regional centres; and online through our Open Learning division. We are the chosen workplace for approximately 1,100 employees.
Our main campus is located in Kamloops, BC and planning is underway to develop our campus into a university village environment — known as The Reach — with parks and outdoor meeting spaces, new academic buildings, shopping, professional services, market housing, and other features to bring the community to TRU.
Our Culture and Values
Employee Health and Wellness
TRU is committed to helping our employees and students achieve a healthy work-life balance by offering mental health services through our Wellness Centre. We encourage all of our employees to stay active and offer intramural programs and free fitness classes through our Recreation Department. Employees and their families also receive a discount on annual gym passes at theTournament Capital Centre on campus.
Environment and Sustainability
TRU has been a carbon neutral organization since 2010. We are proud to continue our environmental commitment and hope to reduce our energy consumption by 25% of 2010 figures by 2016. This will be achieved through sustainability programs and initiatives run by our Office of Environment & Sustainability. As of 2015, we are well on our way to achieving our goal!
TRU is a diverse learning community, embracing students, faculty, staff and visitors from a vast range of nations, cultures, and traditions. It is important that all members of our TRU community feel confident and safe in the respectful expression of their unique opinions and perspectives.
Diversity and Inclusion
It is important to TRU that we have a diverse workforce and that we provide equal employment opportunities for everyone, regardless of gender, race, heritage, religion or sexual orientation. The HR department also provides workplace accommodations for employees with disabilities.
How to create a job search agent
A job search agent checks every day for openings that match criteria you set for it. If there is a match, it sends you an email with links to the openings.
First, if you don't have an account, create one.
Log in and look for Job Search Agents in the dropdown menu under the icon that looks like binoculars. Click on the Create New Search Agent button.
Perform a search for the type of job you want. Scroll to the bottom and click on the Save Search as an Agent button. Give the search agent a name, and save.
Please Note: Apart from executive searches that contain individual instructions, applications will only be accepted online through the careers section.
