Session and Tour Schedule

Open House features over 50 booths, displays, information sessions and tours. Whether you’re a high school student, a transfer student, a mature student or you’re just considering your options, you’ll get everything you need to know about TRU at Open House. Not a future TRU student? We’d still love to show you around campus.

When you arrive for Open House, please check in at our registration table (Old Main or International Building) to pick up the full itinerary and for a chance to win some amazing prizes.

TOURS

 Campus Tours
Come join a campus tour where a current student will help you navigate everything from the multiple campus buildings, the bookstore, where to eat, TRU programs and faculties, student services and resources, and other amazing opportunities offered on campus. There is no better way to see all our beautiful campus has to offer!

9:00 am, 9:30 am, 10:30 am, 11:00 am, 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm

Live on campus… for the next 15 minutes at least. Explore North Tower, McGill Residence, and East Village. Get your residence hopping shoes on because tours run every 15 minutes at all three locations.

Acquire the tools you need to succeed. Whether you are interested in carpentry, horticulture, gas fitting, (or more!) embark on a tour of the Trades buildings to discover how you can jumpstart your career.

Visual Arts
Catch a first-hand glimpse into this one-of-a-kind photography exhibition created by 4th year students Sophia Dodic and Lyn Richards.

 Coolest Sustainable School
Sustainability
Discover why TRU is the “coolest” school in North America. Visit the Sustainability Office’s outdoor booth and learn about their many initiatives and programs, transportation options. Also, grab an organic apple while you’re at it!

Get up close and personal with the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dogs. Reduce your blood pressure, increase your self-esteem, and throw anxiety and depression out the window!

Engineering
Take a leap out of your daily life and land in a virtual world with the Engineering department. Delve into an unknown space to compete amongst your peers and win prizes.

Visit TRU’s friendly and inviting Indigenous centre that provides support and guidance in regards to on-campus and off-campus supports. It’s also a space to socialize, study or just take a break from your day. It is truly a home away from home.

Applied Sustainable Ranching
Explore the future of food growth and consumption with the Applied Sustainable Ranching program. In this interactive activity, learn about soil microorganisms, reduce carbon in the atmosphere, and mitigate climate change.

Animal Health Technology
Get up close and personal with a puppy! Need we say more? Participate in an interactive demonstration of diagnostic equipment, such as stethoscopes, Doppler, and pulse oximeters.
