ABE Advanced Certificate
Grade 11 equivalency
BC residents can now access Adult Basic Education (ABE) tuition-free (applicable fees still apply).
The ABE Intermediate Certificate is for you if you are an adult learner interested in attaining your BC Adult Graduation Diploma, preparing for post-secondary studies or entering the workforce.
What Can You Do With This Credential?
Completion of this program can enable you to enter Grade 12 studies, a vocational program or the workforce.
If you plan to complete this credential through Open Learning, please fill in a Program Admission form and send it to OL Admissions.
A minimum of two of the required courses must be completed through TRU (distance or on-campus).
Four courses, as follows:
ENGL 0501, Advanced English Skills
MATH 0523, Advanced Mathematics
Science (one required)
Elective (one required)
Choose an elective course other than any used to fulfill the science or mathematics requirement:
Consult with your Program Advisor to ensure that the courses you select are appropriate for your program of study and educational goals. If you proceed otherwise, you may find that a course does not meet program requirements and its credits may not applied toward your chosen credential, or you may be required to pay an additional transcript assessment fee.
