The TRU LEADership conference will take place between September 14 - October 9, 2020.

This year’s TRU LEADership Conference has been re-imagined into a LEADership Cohort. The purpose of the LEADership Cohort is to encourage aspiring and active student leaders to explore their knowledge, skills and values as they relate to leadership. Students will have an opportunity to network with other students and hear from Kamloops and TRU community members as they offer unique perspectives on leadership.

Student will have the opportunity to participate in either an online or in-person cohort and attend one session per week from September 14, 2020 to October 9, 2020. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion upon attending all sessions and completing related activities.

This year’s theme is Change Management. Change management is a skill all leaders must have. In our current global climate, it is increasingly important for future leaders to be equipped with skills in a changing world and society.

What is a campfire session?

Campfire Sessions begin like a traditional presentation, with a speaker at the front of the room presenting an idea to a group of people. After 15 minutes, the focus shifts from the presenter to the audience. For the remainder of the session, the presenter becomes a facilitator, inviting comments, insights, and questions from those around the room.

Campfire sessions allow attendees to drive their own learning and share experiences with others, which also assists with networking and connecting with others.
