  • Provide group situations for focusing on leadership motivations and team building
  • Sharpen your skills to cope with power shifts in organizations

This workshop will:

  • Provide practical techniques to manage your job and delegate effectively
  • Outline a comprehensive and flexible system of performance analysis and appraisal
  • Identify your time-wasters and give you ideas on how to eliminate them
  • Provide experiences in instruction and performance appraisal interviewing
  • Give you tips to manage change

Project Management courses and descriptions for Fall 2019

 Tools and Techniques, Level 1 • XWRK 0260

For new project managers or those without previous formal training who want an overview of the project management framework based on the standards of the Project Management Institute (PMI).

The course provides an overview of project management techniques for planning and executing projects. Topics include creating a scope of work, developing the budget and schedule, tools for managing risk and communications, and strategies for implementing project tracking techniques to control the project budget, schedule, and quality. The program covers the technical and soft skills which project managers require, based on the standards of the Project Management Institute. Theory and real world examples of these methodologies are provided in an interactive format. You gain skills that you can apply on your own projects.

 Tools and Techniques, Level 2 • XWRK 0272

Participants receive advanced project management skills development training building on the theory and fundamentals learned in the Project Management Foundations workshop. This course provides a comprehensive overview of the issues which experienced project managers face in their work along with practical tools for managing projects, based on PMI and PMBOK best practices. Topics include managing changing client requirements, managing scope change requests, delivering projects with limited resources, lack of authority for project managers, managing difficult clients, managing project initiation, formulating and executing the project plan, creating strategies to manage risk, measuring performance & maintaining control, creating strategies to manage client expectations and achieve client satisfaction, and methodologies for integrating project management into your daily work. Instruction and industry examples of these methodologies are provided in an interactive format.

 PMP Certification Preparation Workshop • XWRK 0190

PMP® Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) demonstrates competence of project management skills. This workshop prepares participants to write the PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification exam and provides the 35 hour educational credits required for new applications.

All official exam topics are covered using the PMI framework. The program features:
