Road Closures and Detours
Fall 2018 construction
Construction of the Nursing and Population Health Building (NPH) began in July, and work is expanding on two developments at The Reach north of Old Main. Notices will be posted here and communications sent to the TRU community when disruptions due to these and other construction projects are anticipated.
Long-term road closures are indicated in red on the map. Dotted lines may indicate pedestrian routes around construction sites. Please use caution in construction zones, whether driving or walking.
Feb. 19–22, 2019:
- During Reading Week, there will be no access to Hillside Drive from University Drive North (past parking lots N and NT) due to construction by BC Hydro at that intersection. Traffic along Hillside Drive will be restricted to single-lane alternating traffic. Drivers, please be prepared to use the Summit Exit or West Gate when leaving the north-west end of campus.
- To improve safety for pedestrians crossing University Drive and navigating around the NPH construction zone, the east end of College Drive and the east access road to parking lots R and S are closed to vehicle traffic for the duration of the NPH project. Pedestrian routes will remain open around the Lepin Building. A temporary crosswalk is in place at the corner of College Drive and University Drive where construction vehicles entering the NPH site cross foot traffic.
- Parking lot L2 is closed for construction staging for the duration of the NPH project.
TRU makes every effort to notify students, staff and faculty in a timely fashion when construction-related closures of roads, pedestrian routes or parking spaces is anticipated. However, due to the variety of projects, contractors and geographical factors on campus, some disruptions may occur with little or no advance notice.
Please allow yourself additional time to drive or walk with caution around construction zones, and check this site for updated closure information. For parking information, see the Parking and Transportation website. Thank you for your continued patience as TRU builds for the future.
