1 Students planning on transferring to UBC after their first year should take one of the combinations that includes CHEM 125.

2 Students who entered first year Science prior to fall 1997 are not required to take COMP 100 or COMP 113 and ENGL 229 or 230 (although they may do so as electives); however 6 credits of ENGL at the 100 level are required.

3 Students with a B or better in ENGL 110 or 111 may proceed into ENGL 229 or 230 in their second year; students with less than a B in first year English must take another 3 credits of 100-level English before their second year English requirement.

4 Students with a grade of 80% or better in Physics 12 only need to complete 3 credits of first year Physics, PHYS 115. The remaining 3 credits may be taken in any subject area.

5 . Courses can be selected from: BIOL 320, BIOL 331, BIOL 415, BIOL 448, BIOL 449

6 Electives must include 9-12 credits in at least two disciplines outside of science (other than English). The 18 remaining elective credits may be chosen from any discipline; at least 9 of these must be in courses numbered 300 or higher. PHIL 433 is recommended. Chem 215 and 225 are also recommended.
