Through individual and group work, students will explore the tourism geography of the Arctic and the Antarctic. Special emphasis is place upon the history, development and regulation of tourism in the Antarctic Peninsula. Students will participate in the field component of the course and have the opportunity to explore their ideas about tourism in a remote region subject to packaged tourism. This course emphasizes participant observation, reflection, research and presentation skills.
Prerequisite: Must be a third or fourth year student in the BTM program.
