Fundamentals of Design 2 (3,1,0)(L) Studio 3 credits

At the beginning of this semester, the major element of Colour will be studied: it's relationship to content, it's interactive properties and psychological effects will be discussed. The element of sound and it's effects on the way visual images may be interpreted will also be discussed. The historical aspect of this course will concentrate on the Bauhaus and it's effect on contemporary design related to architecture, advertising, typeface, theatre, product design, education, and current vocabulary. Practical assignments related to the above topics will be presented and demonstrated in class but students will be expected to carry out these projects outside of timetabled class hours.

Prerequisite: FINA 112 or equivalent.
