Program Description

Thompson Rivers University offers a one year (2 Terms) Certificate in Water & Wastewater Utilities and an optional 4 to 8 month internship. This Certificate is an entry level training and education program in the operation and maintenance of Water and Wastewater Treatment, Distribution and Collection systems. The Certificate requirements are a successful completion of 12 courses, 6 per term, total of 36 credits to graduate. This program ladders into the Water Treatment Technology Diploma Program.

All the classes will be held at:

Thompson Rivers University Water Education & Research Centre located at
Kamloops Centre for Water Quality:
111-1315 River Street,
Kamloops, B.C.

Class times are 8:30 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday, with two 15 minutes breaks and half an hour allotted for lunch.

Admission Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent
•  Mature Student status (Placement on the Entry Assessment for English at an 060 level and for Math at an 050 level)
• Grade 11 Math (Math 050) and Chemistry (Chem 050) Recommended

Documentation Required

• Official transcripts of previous secondary and post-secondary education required.
• Canadian Citizenship, or landed immigrant status

Costs

The tuition fees are  $9,200.00.  Lab Fees are $150.  Plus Ancillary Fees.  Please check with Registrar for Ancillary Fees.  The students will also require a calculator, lab coat and CSA approved safety glasses and work boots.
