Help children of financial need experience a Summer Sports Camp Program through the TRU Foundation.
What is it?
The goal is to establish, and grow, an endowment that would allow children to participate in a sports camp that could not otherwise afford to.
How does it work?
Money raised is put into a trust with the TRU foundation. Each year TRU Sports Camps will receive money from the Foundation that will be used to remove the financial barriers that do not allow children to participate in a Summer Sports Camp.
How long will my contribution make a difference?
Eternally, simply put your money will remove these barriers each and every year there are Sports Camps at TRU.
Who can contribute?
An individual or business that would enjoy contributing to the worthy cause may contribute to this endowment.
What are the benefits?
Tax Receipt: The donor will receive a tax receipt for the amount donated.
TRU Sports Camps will recognize the donations through our Endowment Page in our Sport Camp Publication. If you contribute then we want to say thank you by recognizing you in our Endowment Page
How can a person/business contribute?
There are two ways:
1) First you can simply add a dollar amount on the registration form below when you are registering and the total will be added on. Minimum contributions start at $20.00.
2) Contact Duncan Olthuis and he will help coordinate your contribution efforts.

TRU Sports Camps is committed to providing a platform for children, of all levels, to participate, practice, and excel, at the sport or activity of their choice. We realize that in order for children to receive the full benefits of physical activity, the experience from the summer must last. TRU Sports Camp has spearheaded a number of initiatives to ensure that the Sport Camp experience gives back to the children who support it.
1) TRU Sport Camps are working with the Kamloops School District.
2) Kamloops School District will receive a portion of each registration from TRU Sports Camps.
The money will be used to enhance the Healthy School Initiative here in Kamloops. The Kamloops School District supports TRU Sports Camps for enhancing this program
2) Endowment Fund through TRU Foundation.
This fund will allow children, that otherwise could not afford it, to experience the healthy benefits of a TRU Sport Camp.
All three of these initiatives support already existing programs and remove barriers that should not stop a child from receiving the benefits of physical activity. TRU Sport Camps enables the parent/guardian to add value to their registration dollar. Not only will each child receive cool stuff: Camp Hat and T-Shirt, but the dollar keeps working for children after the camp is over.
TRU Sports Camp is working to embody the spirit that makes this city the best place to live in, the programs that TRU Sports Camps supports, and initiates, captures this spirit. Your registration helps build on the momentum.
