~ The Math Help Centre ~
The Math & Stats Help Centre is a free service for students that is staffed by Mathematics and Statistics faculty and upper level students. It is open to students taking any TRU course that involves mathematics or statistics, but is most useful for UPrep and first year level courses. TRU OL students are also welcome! Students can work alone or together with other students in a relaxed, informal environment, with help readily available. For best results, students should bring their class notes, textbook and prior attempts with them to the Centre.
Schedule for the Math & Stats Help Centre
The Help Centre, located in HL210A in the Brown Family House of Learning, is open during the Fall and Winter semesters Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 3:30, including final exam periods. For additional information contact Suzanne Feldberg at 250-828-5212, sfeldberg@tru.ca or Shane Rollans at 250-828-5054, srollans@tru.ca.
Private Tutors
If you need a lot of individual attention and wish to hire a private tutor, the Mathematics Department maintains a Tutor List of students and graduates who provide tutoring. Rates and scheduling should be arranged directly with the tutors and are independent of the services of the Math Help Centre.
