Students can enter the B.Sc program after completion of 48 credits with a minumum gpa of 2.0. Currently students enter the B.Sc. program at TRU at the end of the second year of study. For all science courses the minimum acceptable grade for pre-requisite courses is a C. For all B.Sc. programs, no matter what the major, the following first and second year courses are required:

  • 3 credits of Chemistry (CHEM 1100 or 1110)
  • 3 credits of Physics (PHYS 1100 or 1150)
  • 3 credits of Biology or Geology (BIOL 1100 or 1110 or 1200 or 1210 or GEOL 1110 or 2050)
  • 3-6 credits of first year English (ENGL 1100 or 1110 or 1210 - if a grade of B or better is obtained in the first English course, a second first year English course is not required)

The following additional specific courses are required for entry to the B.Sc. with a Major in Computing Science:

  • 6 credits of 1st year Computing Science (COMP 1130/1230)
  • 6 credits of 2nd year Computing Science (COMP 2130/2230)
  • 3 credits of Mathematics ( MATH 2120 - Linear Algebra, MATH 2220 - Discrete Mathematics (COMP 2200 is equivalent to MATH 2220))
  • 3 credits of Statistics (Stat 2000 - Introduction to Statistics)

Additionally, 18-21 credits of electives are required (depending on whether 3 or 6 credits of first year English were required).

For students wishing to transfer in from other institutions within B.C., the B.C. Transfer Guide will be used to determine course equivalencies.
