Thompson Nicola Paleontological Society
Purpose
The members of the Thompson-Nicola Paleontology Society believe that the understanding and preservation of the fossil heritage of British Columbia contributes greatly to our appreciation of earth history. We believe that the leisure activity of fossil collecting stimulates interest in and makes a contribution to paleontology. Our purpose is to encourage and assist in the development of paleontology as both a science and a leisure activity in British Columbia.
Our aims are as follows:
- To promote and assist in paleontological research.
- To increase and promote public awareness of our fossil heritage.
- To encourage and promote the safe and responsible collection of fossils.
- To encourage collectors to deposit scientifically important fossils in a museum or university collection.
Our Main goal is to have fun.
The Thompson-Nicola Paleontological Society is a member of British Columbia Paleontological Alliance. It meets during the second week of every month at the Science building in room S233 at the Thompson Rivers University. For more information email keklein@tru.ca or follow the Member info link below.
