Requesting Additional Security
From time to time the university may need to add extra security to our normal arrangements. This may be in response to a threat or perceived threat or because of a change to normal campus activities.
- If you are concerned about a threat, contact security, the Office of Safety and Emergency Management or Risk Management Services for a risk assessment. If it is considered that additional security is needed, it will be organised through the Office of Risk Management Services.
- If you are organising an event for TRU, a department or faculty, a student group or the campus community and will be using campus grounds or buildings, you need to consider security as part of your overall event risk management assessment. If the assessment shows that additional security is needed, it will be organised through the Office of Risk Management Services with the costs charged to the event organiser.
- Events using campus groups or buildings organised by individuals, groups or organisations not affiliated with TRU should be booked through Ancillary Services. If there is a need for additional security this will be organised by Ancillary Services in conjunction with the Office of Risk Management Services with the costs charged to the event organiser.
