Background

In February 2003, the TRU Board of Governors approved plans for the initiation of a Comprehensive University Enhancement Fund (CUEF).  Scholarships, recreation and guest speakers as well as study abroad, co-op education, student research, wellness and faculty development benefit from this fund.

Under the mandate of the CUEF, the Undergraduate Student Research Experience Award Program (U-REAP) was developed to support Research, Scholarship and the Production of Creative Works by students wishing to conduct research with a faculty advisor at TRU.

U-REAP Award Program

The CUEF U-REAP provides an opportunity for talented undergraduate students to engage in original independent research, scholarship or the production of creative works. The standard award is $4500 in the form of a scholarship, with the potential for an additional research grant and conference participation funding.

In addition to the scholarship, applicants may apply for a research grant of up to $1000 to cover research costs and conference travel. These funds will be disbursed to successful applicants on a competitive basis according to needs justified in the application process, and the availability of funds.
