Thompson Rivers University can help small business offices to increase their overall productivity starting with a 1 + 4 assessment and training. By working closelywith the office staff, these sessions are designed to:

  • Increase efficiency but training and/or modifying procedures, to gain productivity
  • Take minutes, not hours for data filtration for information, account reconciliation to ensure roper record keeping and optimize work flow so nothing is missed

Management for Supervisors, 2018

This three-part program offers over 70 hours of training that is integrated and structured involving a high level of participation. Students are introduced to hands-on management training that is immediately useful by provincially and internationally recognized facilitators.

Part 1
Interpersonal Skills• YMSS 1010
This workshop will:

  • Sharpen your decision-making skills
  • Improve and enhance your relationships with others
  • Aid in developing effective and persuasive communications
  • Enhance your interviewing techniques
  • Provide experiences in handling job-related problems.
  • Hone your communication skills to handle conflict situations

Part 2
Team-building Skills • YMSS 1020
This workshop will:

  • Provide practical techniques to motivate others
  • Determine your preferred leadership style, give you practice using it and help develop increased flexibility
  • Promote useful techniques for leading and participating in meetings
  • Provide group situations for focusing on leadership, motivations and team building
  • Sharpen your skills to cope with power shiftsin organizations

Part 3
Administrative Skills • YMSS 1030
This workshop will:

  • Provide practical techniques to manage your job and delegate effectively
  • Outline a comprehensive and flexible system of performance analysis and appraisal
  • Identify your time wasters and get ideas on how to eliminate them
  • Provide experiences in instruction and performance appraisal interviewing

Students may take one, two or all three parts. Certificates are issued to students who successfully complete all three parts.
