Campus fitness classes are free for TRU students and TRU staff. Registration is not required; however, classes are on a first come, first serve basis. All campus fitness classes take place in the Fitness Studio (Lower Level of the TRU Gym). Please be advised that classes are subject to change basedon instructor availability.
All classes should be taken at your own pace and intensity. Check with your Physician prior to beginning any new exercise regime. Par Q forms must be completed by all participants.
Please note the following fitness/yoga classes that will be in session and those that will not be in session. Scheduling has been completed till June – participant participation, program evaluation, and instructor availability will be determinants of the July and August schedule.
All current classes for April will remain the same EXCEPT for:
The last 5:30 p.m. class on Mondays which will end on April 10th and the last 5:30 class which will end on Wednesday will end on April 12th, and the last morning Tuesday and last Thursday am classes which will end on April 11th and April 13th respectively – after the 13th these classes will not be in session.
The scheduled yoga classes will run till the end of April; however will not continue throughout the summer – this may be subject to change.

Tabata/Weighted Body Challenges – an effective full body work out that makes one dig deep while using personal body weight! A class that encompasses strength and cardio based class that scorches those calories!
Circuit Class – a challenging yet exciting and fun fitness class that uses a variety of modern fitness equipment and hand held weights.
Body Shred - (a trademark of Jillian Michaels) - a newly implemented class that is only 30 minutes in length. The workout timeframe includes: the warm-up, the workout routine, and the stretch. Not having time is definitely not an excuse! Lighter weights are used with the goal of achieving multiple reps in limited time. Keep committed and see results!
Sculpt Circuit - looking to get optimal results from your training? Come check out a challenging full body workout combining athletic strength intervals with cardio drills. There is fitness variety from station to station in this full body sculpt class!
Bang For Your Buck Boot camp – a Tabata based boot camp style workout utilizing multi-joints and multi-muscle groups. 7-8 rounds of different exercises are planned for each muscle group taxed for 20-40 seconds. A high intensity, fat burning, and muscle building workout!
Boot camp Games - participate in a class that focuses on having fun, while participating in a strength and a cardio routine. A lil something of everything for everyone!
Stretch and Relaxation - keep calm and unwind in this very low impact fitness class. The instructor will lead you through a series of stretches and relaxation techniques that will soothe the mind, the body, and the soul.
Hatha Yoga - a branch of Yoga which focuses on physical and mental health. Hatha Yoga uses body postures, breathing techniques, and meditation with the goal of bringing about a sound, healthy body and a clear, peaceful mind.
Bums and Tums - get ready to feel your bum and your tum! This class will work your glutes and abs like you have never done before. Class is designed to mainly focus on tightening these two major muscle groups.
Never Miss A Leg Day - a class that ensures you don't forget about those lower limbs! Utilizing athletic intervals, your legs will gain strength and will tone while using assorted equipment. Cardio intervals will supplement this class to burn fat. Come and never miss leg day again!
Zumba - a class that is perfect for everyone! The “work” is removed from “workout”! Low intensity and high intensity moves are intermixed for an interval style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. All elements of fitness are combined – cardiovascular conditioning, muscle conditioning, balance, and flexibility.
Roll and Restore - foam rollers are used to give muscles groups a gentle and deep massage. This class will strength and stretch tight and resistive muscles!
Participants must preregister for these classes.

Kix 4 Chix - Kickboxing is a great work out that relieves stress, while learning a valuable physical skill. An all-women environment, that provides a level of comfort amidst creating meaningful and lasting friendships.
