Have you thought about becoming a nurse but didn't really know what nurses did?

Nursing is more than a job it is a career

In 2003 there were over 250,000 nurses in Canada. Currently it is a good time to enter the nursing profession as there is a world-wide shortage of nurses.

To learn more about nursing go to the following site:
Canadian Nurses Association - Becoming a Nurse

If you want to become a nurse you need to determine the career entry point that best suits your needs. Do you want to become a Licensed Practical Nurse or a Registered Nurses?

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - LPNs are licensed by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia. LPNs are highly skilled nurses who work in a variety of health care settings. The LPN program is currently a 12 month program of study in British Columbia.

Registered Nurse (RN) - RNs are regulated by the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia. The program is 4 years long. Upon graduating from an approved school of nursing the student is eligible to write the Canadian Registered Nurse Examinations.
