Pathways Program at TRU

requirements

For many years, TRU nursing partnered with the Kamloops Indian Band SFU campus on the design, implementation, and evaluation of an Aboriginal Pre-Health program. With the loss of the SFU campus here, TRU implemented the Aboriginal Pathways to Health Careers program which offers face-to-face and on-line learning options for students. This program offers students an opportunity to obatin the prerequisites necessary to enter several health related career paths. Potential health careers include Nursing, Medicine, Respiratory Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physio Therapy. This program also strengthens the transition and bridge between TRU Health Science programs, and adds to TRU's current comprehensive and coordinated program of academic, personal, social, cultural, and financial supports for Aboriginal students.
