Costs prior to program
$25 - Applying to HSRCA program (students new to TRU only)
$30 - Assessment test (contact the Assessment Centre for an appointment: 828-5470)
$125 - Red Cross Emergency Certificate
$75 (approximate cost) - Food Safe
$50-60 - TRU Medical, completed by your Doctor - using TRU forms
$10-35 - Criminal record check - one to two months prior to entering program

$100* - Text: Mosby’s Canadian Textbook for the Support Worker
$150* (approximate cost) - Course Manuals - HSRC 1000,1050,1100,1150,1200,1250/1300,1350 + an HSRCA handbook = 8 manuals
$20* - TRU student pin - $7 + engraving of first name
$16* - Transfer belt
$7* - Graduation pin (optional)
$45 - School supplies - binders, paper, pens, ruler, hi-liter, 3-4 duo-tangs, disposable gloves, hand sanitizer for Home Support, etc.
$25 - Book bag, knap sack - something to carry manuals/books
$80 - Closed-toed walking shoes for practicum
$40 - Navy blue scrubs (pants and top)
$15 - Medical Dictionary (optional), needed later in the program
Costs during program
$55 - WHMIS Course - will be arranged during the program, approx. week 4
$100 - Non Violent Crisis Intervention IH course - will be arranged during the program
$150 - Approx. transportation costs to and from facilities and home support
$200 - Parking at TRU – $3/day and Assisted Living
$4 - TRU Calendar - please read student policies
$20 - Thermos/mug (optional)
