Entrance Requirements for General Admission

 Educational Requirements

The LPI must have been written within the last 2 years and all grades must be current within the past 10 years.

• B.C. Grade 12 or equivalent or Mature Student Status
• One B.C. Science 11 or 12, C+ minimum grade (Biology 11 recommended)
• BC Chemistry 11 or TRU CHEM0500 or equivalent; C+ minimum grade
• Biology 12 or TRU BIOL0600 or equivalent; C+ minimum grade
• * Math 11 (Principles), or TRU MATH0500and MATH0510 or equivalent; C minimum grade
• B.C. English 12 or TRU ENGL0600 or equivalent or LPI - Level 4 within last 2 years; B minimum grade

* Starting in September 2013 applicants will require Math 12 (Foundations) with a C+ (preferred) or Pre-calculus 12 (C+).

Other Documents Required

• Letter of introduction
• Two letters of reference

General Requirements After Admission to the Program

• Review: " Becoming a Registered Nurse in British Columbia: Requisite Skills and Abilities".
• Complete immunization schedule
• Canadian citizenship or landed immigrant status.
• Criminal Record Check (Completed through TRU once admitted)
• CPR-C and WHIMS

Special Admission Status

Applicants seeking Mature Student Status should refer to the Academic Information section of the Calendar. Mature students are required to meet the Science, Math and English prerequisites. Mature students who have recently completed BIOL1590 / BIOL1690 or equivalents with a minimum C grade may have the science prerequisites waived.

Application Deadlines

Deadlines for admission applications will be posted in the Fall. Only complete application packages will be considered.
Deadline for the September class will be on January 15 of the same year.
