2008 The Canadian Nurses Association Centennial Award

The Centennial Awards were created to honour exceptional registered nurses whose work has had a positive impact on nursing and on the lives and health of Canadians. Recipients were nominated for the one-time-only award by their peers as a recognition of their contributions to the profession, the workplace and the health system.
Jeanette was presented this award for work on the Canadian Registered Nurse Examination.

2007 CRNBC Award of Excellence in Nursing Education This award is presented to registered nurses who demonstrate excellence in nursing education in the nurses' own work settings (e.g., colleges, institutes, universities or health care agencies).
Nominees must demonstrate excellence in at least four of the following areas and demonstrate competent or better performance in the remaining areas*:
1.1 lecture, demonstration, discussion, clinical or laboratory instruction;
1.2 consultation, including tutoring, advising and thesis or major paper supervision;
1.3 program, curriculum or course design and development;
1.4 innovative teaching methods;
1.5 educational planning and policy-making; and
1.6 production of educational materials (study guides, instructional materials and resources, audiovisual aids, textbooks).

The Thompson Rivers University Master Teacher Award recognizes significant long-term, career achievements in teaching, pedagogy and the promotion of good teaching. It complements and builds on the annual Teaching Excellence Awards.

One Master Teacher Award is announced each year.

2008: Excellence in Nursing Education Award by the provincial College of Registered Nurses of BC.
2000: Teaching Excellence award

Sharon was one of the first four nursing faculty hired in 1973 to begin to develop and teach the new diploma Nursing Program at Cariboo College. She was instrumental in the development of the collaborative degree program in Nursing. She has chaired innumerable committees, has been active in a variety of cross-campus and community activities and external nursing organizations, and is a respected mentor for new faculty.
