STEP TWO - Deadline To Apply
The early application deadline for Academic Programs is March 1, 2013, the regular deadline is April 30, 2013. Applications will be accepted until Sept. 1, 2013; however, students will only be admitted and allowed to register in courses as space permits. For application deadlines to Career Technical, Certificate, and Diploma Programs, check with the Registrar's Office. Completing your application as soon as possible is highly recommended.
STEP THREE - How To Apply
- Fill out an application online to attend TRU using the ApplyBC
website.
- If you do not submit the $26.00 application fee electronically with your on-line application, you must send it to TRU Admissions – your application is not processed until the fee has been received.
- Your application will be acknowledged, and you will receive further information on other requirements in the admissions process.
- Alternatively, you may complete a paper application form
(download pdf).
- Check the program list on the back of the application. Print your program choice exactly as it appears.

- BC High School Students : Your PEN ID number must be filled in correctly.
- All Other Applicants : Official transcripts of your secondary school marks and any post-secondary institutions you have attended should be included with this application.
- First-time Applicants : Attach a non-refundable Application Fee of $26.00. Payment can be made by cheque or money order, payable to Thompson Rivers University. You can also pay by cash in person, at the Campus Cashier, located in the Old Main Building on the Kamloops Campus.

STEP FOUR - Next Steps
- You will be notified in writing upon receipt of your application.

- BC High School Students who are applying for admission to Year 1 of a University program leading to a degree in Arts, Science, Business, Education, Social Work, Journalism, Tourism, Computing Science, or applying to University Preparation:
If you have properly and fully completed the application, including your PEN I.D.#, and attached the $26.00 application fee, you will not need to send any other documents. Your application will be processed, and you will be notified in writing if your application has been accepted.
- High School Students who are applying for admission to Year 1 of a “limited enrollment” Degree Program (Natural Resource Science, Nursing, or Fine Arts) OR Transfer Programs (Forestry or Engineering) OR Year 1 of any University Diploma, Certificate, or Trades program:
Submitting a completed Application is the first step in the process.
If you have not requested an Admission Requirements Package, please ensure that you check the appropriate box on the application and one will be sent to you. (Note: First-year Arts, Science or University Preparation applicants DO NOT NEED this package.) For most other programs, you will need to include a copy of your Grade 11 final marks, and an interim Grade 12 grade statement listing courses you are taking this year.

- BC High School Students who are applying for admission to Year 1 of a University program leading to a degree in Arts, Science, Business, Education, Social Work, Journalism, Tourism, Computing Science, or applying to University Preparation:
- You should meet with a TRU Academic Advisor prior to July registration. Students MUST be aware of prerequisite high school courses they will need in order to register for TRU Academic courses.
- Applicants who have been accepted to University Academic or University Preparation Programs will receive details on course registration, including a date and time to register. This information will be mailed out in early June. You may contact the Registrar's Office at 250-828-5036 if your Registration package is not received by mid-June.
- Applicants to Career Technical (Certificate/Diploma) and Trades Programs will receive registration information as it applies to their specific programs.
If you are a student with a permanent disability and will require services please contact TRU Disability Services at: 250-828-5023 or dso@tru.ca two-three months prior to registering for courses as some services require considerable lead time.
