The 'Forgot Password' link allows you to access your Secret Questions.  Enter your User Name and click 'Submit'.

Keep the following in mind when answering the questions:

    • You must supply correct answers for at least 2 of the questions.
    • The answers are not case sensitive (answers that differ only in upper and lower case characters are considered valid).
    • Whitespace in answers is not significant (a different number of space characters may be supplied than at setup time).

If you cannot answer your secret questions please contact the IT Service desk at 250-852-6800 or visit the IT Services Lab Support office in OM1326 to have have your password reset.

  • Popup Blockers?

Software originally designed to block annoying advertisements that "pop-up" when you visit certain websites. Many legitimate sites use pop-ups and require you to modify your pop-up blocker settings in order to use them. myTRU is one of these sites.

Chances are you have at least one pop-up blocker installed on your computer. This software is included in almost every web browser and installed with many toolbars and security programs. You will need to modify the settings to allow pop-ups from mytru.ca in order for you to see all functions properly.

We suggest that you add an exception (allow) pop-ups for all TRU websites in one of your blockers and disable all the others. You need to add the exception *.tru.ca

    Instructions for Internet Explorer 8

    • Click on Tools -> Pop-up Blocker -> Pop-up Blocker Settings
    • Type *.tru.ca in the Address of website to allow: field
    • Click the Add button
    • You can now see *.tru.ca in the Allowed Sites list so that all TRU websites that use pop-ups will be allowed while other sites that use pop-ups will be blocked. If you would like to allow other sites to display their pop-ups, repeat instructions above inputting their website or domain address instead of tru.ca.
    • Click Close button
    • Close ALL windows to activate changes upon next opening

Remember that if you have followed the instructions and still are getting blocked then there is still at least one more blocker to disable or remove on your computer! Keep looking.

  • What browsers are supported?

    Windows

    • Firefox
    • Internet Explorer
    • Safari
    Macintosh
    • Firefox
    • Safari
    Pop-Up Windows:
    • The use of "pop-up" windows is required by the portal software. If you have pop-ups disabled in your browser or via a third party pop-up blocker, this will interfere with your use of myTRU. Disable the block or customize it to not block pop-ups for all sites in the mytru.ca domain.

  • What is browser cache?

Each time you access a file through your web browser, the browser caches (stores) it. In this way, the files (including any images on the page) do not have to be retrieved anew from the web site each time you click the Back or Forward buttons. You should periodically clear the cache to allow your browser to function more efficiently and to ensure that you are viewing the most recent version of the page.
