Linking TRU Library
resources in Blackboard or Moodle

Because there are licensing and copyright law restrictions governing the use of subscription & licensed resources, persistent links can only be used in WebCT or Moodle. Creating links to licensed content is not permitted on web pages. TRU Students and Faculty viewing licensed materials from off campus must use the TRU Library proxy server before clicking on any link.

Note #1: Not all indexes and electronic journals allow persistent links to be made. Also persistent links are not truly persistent. This is because database providers, which will give access to journals of many publishers (ex: EBSCO), sometimes remove full-text access to journals from their databases.

Note #2: It is strictly against Canadian Copyright laws to download PDF articles and save them directly on the Blackboard or Moodle servers. Students may need to be advised to download Adobe Acrobat Reader onto their home computers (download for free from Adobe).
