The Video Booking Service allows TRU faculty and staff to book/reserve videos for specific show date(s). These videos can be from the TRU collection or available from other post-secondary institutions in British Columbia. Video Bookings are co-ordinated through the TRU Interlibrary Loans department.

Who can book videos?
The Video Booking service is available to current staff and faculty of TRU.

How to book a video?
Fill out a Video Booking form for each item requested. Please submit your request at least one week prior to your "show date". Forms are available through the library's website. Please fill in the forms completely, including the "show date" for each item and the call # ( this is only required on TRU Library videos ). Omissions or inaccuracies will delay the processing of Video Bookings.

What types of materials are available?

All the videos in the TRU Library collection with public performance rights are available for booking. In addition, the TRU Library can borrow videos from post-secondary institutions across British Columbia. TRU faculty and staff can check the ELN Media Database for videos held at British Columbia post-secondary institutions.

TRU has a feature film license which allows faculty and students to borrow feature films from Rogers, Blockbusters, etc... and show the film in the classroom. This is an end-user service and the library is not responsible for checking titles, rental costs, delivery costs or the booking of videos from commercial video rental outlets.

NOTE: This service is to support research and study at TRU. Requests for personal materials are to be placed with your local public library.

Length of time to obtain videos from other B.C. postsecondary libraries?
The length of time it takes to receive requested videos is dependent upon several factors. These include the accuracy of the information supplied on the booking form, the response of the lending library, and possible booking conflicts. Please submit your request at least one week in advance of your show date.

Notification and pick up of material
Booked videos will be available for pickup at the Circulation Desk 1 day prior to the "show date". The loan period for each item is determined by the lending library. Sorry, no renewals!

Returning borrowed material
It is the responsibility of the borrower to return the booked videos directly to the Circulation desk or through the book drop by its due date. Fines will be levied for materials returned after the due date. Fines for TRU Faculty and Staff are $1 per item per day.

Please remember that it is the TRU Library that obtains videos on the borrower's behalf. If the material is returned late, the Library can lose its borrowing privileges with the lending institution and the borrower could lose his/her video booking privilege. If the borrower loses an item that is on loan, a bill for the replacement cost will be sent to TRU and forwarded to the borrower.
