| Loan Length | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Distance, regional, and open learning faculty have a 6-week loan period for most circulating items from the TRU Library Collection. Videos are loaned for 2 weeks to allow for transit time. For more details, see the table below. Items will be sent to you via Priority Post. For books and videos, packages will include a pre-paid return address label so that any items can be returned to the TRU Library at no cost to you. Each item sent to you will include a bookmark stating the due date. The TRU Library recommends that the item is mailed back to the library at least three business days prior to the due date to ensure that materials are received in time. As a courtesy, the TRU Library automatically sends you a reminder email notice about items sent to you by the TRU Library:
A print notice is mailed on the 7th and 14th day that checked-out items are overdue. After 28 days overdue, a print bill to replace the item is mailed out. If someone has placed a hold on the item, a print notice is also mailed out on the first day overdue. |

| Renew Items | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Like on-campus faculty, distance, regional, and open learning faculty may renew an item up to four times, unless the material has been requested by another user. For more details, see the table below. To renew items from the TRU Kamloops or Williams Lake Library collections, contact the Distance, Regional, and Open Learning Library Services department OR click on the "Renew Library Books" link on the TRU library website. You will need your TRU library card number (based on your TRU employee number) and your TRU Library PIN to renew items online. The library sends an automatic email to you as soon as your library account is activated which tells you your PIN. Your initial library PIN is usually your birthdate (YYMMDD). (For example, April 14, 1985 would be 850414.) Your PIN will also be written on the bookmark that is enclosed with your package. Notes:

In the case of damaged or lost books, you will be charged the cost of replacing the item plus a $10 non-refundable processing fee. The TRU Library offers the following payment options:
