Transportation to Kamloops
 

Air:
Air Canada Jazz serves Kamloops from Vancouver and Calgary.

WestJet serves Kelowna from Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and other cities. It is a 2.5 hour drive from Kelowna Airport to Kamloops. For more information: www.westjet.com.
For bus service from Kelowna to Kamloops see www.greyhound.ca.

Bus from Vancouver:
There are Greyhound buses from morning till evening from Pacific Central Station (bus depot) in Vancouver near the Main Street - Science World Skytrain Station. The bus takes approximately 4.5 to 6 hours to reach Kamloops. The Kamloops bus depot is approximately 2km from the Thompson Rivers University campus. For more information: www.greyhound.ca. Note: the Vancouver airporter bus stops at the Pacific Central Station. For more information: www.yvrairporter.com.

Train from Vancouver:
ViaRail leaves Pacific Central Station in Vancouver approximately three times a week for Kamloops. The trip takes between 8 and 9 hours and arrives in the northern part of Kamloops during the night. For more information: www.viarail.ca.

Car from Vancouver:
It takes about 4 to 5 hours to drive from Vancouver airport to Kamloops over the Coquihalla Highway. The toll on the Coquihalla Highway is $10 one way for cars. It takes approximately 6 hours to drive from Vancouver airport to Kamloops along Trans-Canada Highway No. 1 through the Fraser Canyon.

Cars can be rented at the Vancouver Airport or in downtown Vancouver. Note: It is normally more expensive to rent a car from the airport.

Car from Calgary:
It takes approximately 8 hours to drive from Calgary Airport to Kamloops. If you plan to stop in a national park, such as Banff, you need to buy a park pass. Cars can be rented at the Calgary Airport or in downtown Calgary. Note: It is normally more expensive to rent a car from the airport.

Transportation to and from Kamloops airport
 

The airport shuttle van is usually waiting outside the main doors of terminal for arriving flights. If it is not there, call: 314-4803. The shuttle will take you to the major hotels in the city for approx. $15.

• The #4 & #9 buses stop across from the Plaza Hotel near Zac’s Coffee in downtown and go direct to campus leaving about 7:45 a.m. (Friday and Saturday only) and arrive on campus about 8:00 a.m.
