Sun Java for Windows

This download replaces the Microsoft Java with Sun Java. Sun is the originator of Java and as such has fewer "holes" in the system. It is recommended for ALL systems, home or at work.

TRU ITS has made it a practice to replace all default Java on Faculty and Staff systems with Sun Java. We have noted some applications that do not work correctly with the MS Java do work with Sun Java.

Note - this installation requires a system reboot.
