Elluminate Live™ is interactive Web conference software.
This application provides realtime, collaborative learning space for instructors and their students. Further, it provides virtual meeting spaces for TRU employees for things like hosting meetings, or performing interviews. Elluminate gives participants the ability to speak, and see each other remotely, over the internet, with web cameras and microphones.
Elluminate includes a text messaging system that can be used in conjunction with a web camera, or used by participants that do not have a microphone and camera; making it very flexible with a wide variety of computer setups.
Two particularly powerful tools in Elluminate include the application sharing, and the whiteboard. With application sharing, a moderator can display just about anything in a session: their desktop, spreadsheets, documents, pdf’s, and allow learners to have interactive control of these things remotely and collaboratively.
With the whiteboard, instructors can display power point presentations, draw, and present multimedia video clips to learners. The entire session can be captured as a recording, and watched later, as it happened in the actual session.
