Supplier Responsibilities
Persons or companies
supplying any product, or equipment to TRU shall ensure that the
following responsibilities are complied with:
- All
materials, goods, supplies and equipment ordered by TRU and furnished
by an independant supplier shall be packaged and shipped in accordance
with all Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws and regulations.
- Where
any substance designated as a controlled product under the WHMIS
legislation is supplied, the necessary documentation, including, but
not limited to the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) shall be provided
to the TRU Occupational Health and Safety Department at the same time
as the shipment is made.
- All electrical equipment
intended for use within TRU shall be certified to CSA standards in
order to comply with Provincial Electrical Safety Branch regulations.
Where any electrical equipment is received without the necessary
certification, the University-college reserves the right to return it
to the supplier at their cost.
- All documentation
required under the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act and
Regulations shall be provided at the time of shipment. Containers of
"dangerous goods" shall be appropriately labelled prior to shipment.
