Elevator Failure

1. Use the elevator phone or alarm button to call for help. The telephone connects to the TRU switchboard or to Security (after hours).
   
   
2. Advise them of the stoppage and help will be sent as soon as possible.
   
   
3. If the elevator stops as the result of a campus wide power failure, rescue may be delayed.
   
   
4. If the failure has been as the result of an earthquake, the phone may not work. Emergency plans have been developed for such an event and emergency response personnel will automatically be dispatched to check on all elevators.
