The Drum Cafe is a unique, hands-on approach to teambuilding, learning, and motivation that, simply put, draws the parallels between what it takes to make music and how that relates to working together in an organization, community, village, or “tribe” to achieve a unified goal!

It's a program that is experienced and felt. A musical background is not required as the transformation that occurs between the music as being 'wrong' and the music as being 'right'is easily understood by everyone despite their musical sensibilities. And because music is a universal language, it transcends those barriers, traditional or otherwise, that tend to come between us professionally as well as personally.

The role of faculty and staff goes beyond the realm of academics. They are models of healthy cooperation and team synergy; this sometimes speaks louder then academic teaching techniques. Faculty and staff need quality time focused on team development. The strength and cooperative ability of the team does wonders for alleviating stress and enhancing organizational community spirit. Healthy employees; Healthy Organization!

This is an engaging and interactive performance that is nothing less than thrilling. And, everybody gets a drum! Whether you have 20 or 800 people, we provide a drum for each participantld, which lends to the power of the kinesthetic learning experience.

Learn about (and play) the Djembe Drum from West Africa, while understanding what's needed to create a community rhythm in cooperation with each other. In fact, the program speaks directly to the power of listening, and of demonstrating respect through this cooperative effort.
