The University community understands that health and safety hazards can represent significant impediments to students' and staff's professional, creative, intellectual and social growth. Senior management is determined therefore, to promote safe and healthy working conditions in its facilities as an integral part of its strategic planning and implementation.

Therefore

• Management will establish and maintain adequate standards of plant and equipment maintenance to ensure that physical and health hazards are remedied. Procedures will be established to ensure that tasks are performed in a sage and productive manner.
• Members of the TRU community who perform supervisory duties will ensure that staff and students are adequately trained to perform tasks in a safe and efficient manner, and will enforce the observation of safe practices and regulations at all times.
• Every member of the TRU community is obliged to follow prescribed procedures, report unsafe conditions, and willingly participate in creating and maintaining an accident and disease-free environment.

Health Services - TRU Clinic

The TRU Clinic, located in Old Main - Lower Level (Room OM1461) is open Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm and closed from 12:00 to 1:00pm. The Clinic is available to all registered Students, Staff and Faculty of TRU. Children from Cariboo Child Care will be seen for emergencies. A full-time physician, is available for appointments weekdays. The clinic staff also includes a medical office assistant. For more information and appointments please contact the clinic office.

In case of an emergency, 24 hours per day, assistance can be reached by calling Local 1111 on campus. First Aid services, and treating victims of accidents is part of the Medical Services office role. The office is also available to provide advice on any medical problem. All matters are strictly confidential.
