IMPORTANT NOTICE RE: GROUP BENEFITS  

Effective March 24th, 2010, TRU's Group Benefit Plan will be upgraded to Manulife Financial enhanced administration and claims system.

This change will provide you with access to new online services, including:

  • sign up on-line for direct deposit of claim payments
  • on-line claim submission option for some EHC/Dental services
  • electronic claim statements
  • on-line claim forms pre-populated with group and member level details
  • Send-a-note – a handy feature which allows you to send email inquiries to Manulife’s Customer Service team in a secure environment
  • a wide variety of forms and brochures

COLLEGE PENSION PLAN & MUNICIPAL PENSION PLAN 

Pension enrollment for Faculty and Administrative staff is with the College Pension Plan. Support staff pension enrollment is with the Municipal Pension Plan. 'Pensionfacts' and up to date information regarding both plans is available on the web at http://pensionsbc.ca


PENSION NOTICES

The following notice includes information about a new transfer agreement between the public sector pension plans of BC. The attached bulletin and Transferring Service fact sheet identifies differences between the new BC Public Sector Transfer Agreement and other agreements, and explains member eligibility and options. The Public Sector Transfer Agreement came into effect April 1, 2004.

PROVINCIAL HEALTH INSURANCE 

All residents of British Columbia are required to enroll in the provincial Medical Services Plan (MSP). TRU provides enrollment in MSP for those employees who meet the eligibility criteria for group benefits. For information about MSP, please visit the provincial government website at www.healthservices.gov.bc.ca/msp


EMPLOYEE AND FAMILY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

The Employee and Family Assistance Program provided through Ceridian is a confidential counselling service for employees and their families. Ceridian can be reached at 877-207-8833. For additional information please visit the Ceridian website at www.lifeworks.com
