Internal Campaign
The need for student awards is real. We all hear from our students the challenges they face in paying for their education. Last year the Foundation was able to provide scholarships and bursaries to 1088 students. However, there were another 357 eligible students who applied for aid that did not get any due to a shortage of funds, our goal is to close this gap.
You can make a difference to our students and our university by participating in this year’s internal campus campaign that runs March 5-23. Join the 143 employees that already contribute $40,300 to student awards through payroll deduction. It is as easy as signing up to donate $5.00 or more per pay period. Our goal is to increase employee giving to $50,000 this year.
It is Easy and Tax Deductible
The one page pledge form takes only a few minutes to fill out. It also lists the options for giving;
you have the choice of designating where your contribution goes:
- Choose one of the TRU Community sponsored awards listed on the back of the pledge form. These are awards that departments have established over the years to support students or contribute to one of the named endowments and memorial awards established for former TRU employees and students.
- Direct your donation to a department initiative like a fund for field schools or equipment purchases.
- Get together with 5 (or more) employees and start a new award with criteria to support a student in
your area - it is this easy to start a new award!
- Direct your donation to the TRU Foundation Open Award that helps those students in greatest financial need.
