Students in the Bachelor of Arts programs develop the skills employers are seeking such as communication skills, analytical abilities, research knowledge, written and verbal communication skills, quantitative skills and a broader perspective on the world.

The TRU Faculty of Arts is dedicated to giving talented students, from every socio-economic background, access to an unparalleled education fostering innovation and producing leaders of the next generation.

The Faculty of Arts is a community of scholars who are passionate about undergraduate education. This faculty offers exceptional opportunities for students inside and outside of the classroom to explore ideas, engage communities, and encounter the world. The success of TRU’s humanities, social science, fine arts, journalism and communications programs is a product of small classes and engaged teachers, research opportunities for undergraduate students, unique international programs, students clubs and flexible programming.

These students are also involved in research projects that have practical applications and are transferable to a career path. Real world applied programs are a bridge from university life into the community with an “academic to application” approach.

History, philosophy, and sociology courses are relevant and often lend understanding to the business world. Knowledge obtained from political science, communications and economics courses are an asset in management and government. An undergraduate degree remains excellent preparation for continued graduate work in psychology or in another field such as medicine or computer science.

With the generous support of our community, a pivotal award could become a reality, and TRU Faculty of Arts will be well positioned to deliver a strong student assistance program for our future leaders who excel in the classroom and in the community.

Partners of TRU make higher education a reality for students in need – students like Krysty, a Bachelor of Arts Canadian Studies student, who writes,

“An Award such as this is more than a financial boost; it motivated me and spurred me on to continue striving to reach my goals. It is wonderful that my efforts were acknowledged and I am truly honored to receive this kind of recognition and support. Thank you!” - Krysty Craig, TRU Bachelor of Arts Student and Faculty Scholarship Award Recipient

Aimed at Bachelor of Arts students, this award would recognize and reward students who are strong scholars and have a particular passion for academic excellence and achieving their goals.
