WORK STUDY 2008/2009

GUIDELINES AND INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS

To be eligible for TRU Work Study, students must have an approved government loan, be enrolled in a minimum of a 60% (full- time) course load and maintain a 2.0 GPA.

v       Complete and submit the Work Study application to the TRU Financial Aid & Awards Office for assessment. Out-of-province students must attach a copy of 2008/2009 loan document or a copy of an official notification of award from home province.

v       An Awards Advisor then calculates the student’s “financial need” and indicates on the student’s eligibility form how many hours they may work. Once approved, student numbers will be posted on the Work Study board outside the office and an eligibility form will be ready for pick-up.

v       Students with a work study eligibility form can then contact the supervisor of a desired position for an interview. If hired, please have eligibility form completed and signed by supervisor.

v       Return with completed eligibility form to the Financial Aid & Awards office and make an appointment with an Awards Advisor to complete payroll/HR paperwork. Bring a void cheque please.

*Students must not begin work until paperwork is complete
