The TRU WorkStudy Program 2011-2012
WorkStudy is a TRU funded financial assistance program which offers an opportunity for Canadian students to work part-time on campus in positions that accommodate their studies. The objectives of the program are to assist students in financial need with a regular source of income that does not add to their debt load, offer students training and experience that will assist them in further studies and their eventual entrance into the workforce, and to help staff and faculty
The program runs from September through April, with hiring occurring in the Fall until all positions are filled. Applications can be obtained at the Financial Aid and Awards office.
Positions are available to full-time students who are maintaining a satisfactory academic standing (2.00 Current GPA) and who have qualified for a government student loan program. (Students who are not approved for student loans in the current academic year are not eligible to participate).
WorkStudy positions pay $10 per hour, and are a maximum of eight hours per week (240 hours for the academic year).
