Awards for Dual Credit Students

TRU will receive $450,000 between July 2008 and July 2011 for awards for secondary school students enrolled in dual credit programs.  CTC students are enrolled in a full-time program, while TRU Start students normally only take one course per term.

Note:  Interested students must contact the career coordinator at their secondary school to determine which programs are offered for dual credit.

Local secondary school students who are enrolled in a dual credit program or courses at the Kamloops campus of TRU may now have their ancillary fees paid by a SIDIT award.  If students are not from School District #73, #74 or #58, they must ensure a dual credit agreement is in place between their school district and TRU.  In order to receive the funding, students need only sign and return the SIDIT form received with their registration information and invoice, and then register as a dual credit student at TRU.  If the form cannot be located, a replacement may also be obtained from TRU Financial Aid & Awards.

As in the past, the student's tuition will be sponsored by their school district.

The SIDIT award will cover all ancillary fees charged by TRU, including the UPass, but excluding health and dental (collected by TRU on behalf of TRUSU, the student union).   Students will generally need to buy their own books, supplies, and safety equipment (boots, goggles, etc).
