Loan Processing - Overawards

Students who are considered to be in an overaward of government student assistance will be treated as follows:

Canada Student Loan Overawards of $250 or more will be deducted from any new entitlement. If the new entitlement is insufficient to recoup the overaward, the new Canada Student Loan will be reduced to zero and the remainder of the overaward will be deducted from a future entitlement. CSL overawards of less than $250 will not affect future assistance.

BC Student Loan Overawards of any amount will be deducted from any new BC Student Loan entitlement. If the entitlement is insufficient to recoup the overaward, the same process as for Canada Student Loans will be followed.
