Loan Processing - Loan Negotiation

The documents will be sent to the address on your student loan application (see Electronic Confirmation of Enrollment). Loan documents must be taken to a designated Post Office within thirty days of being validated by the Financial Aid & Awards Office. The Post Office verifies the student's identification and forwards the documents to the appropriate service provider.  The service provider processes the loan and electronically deposits the money into the student’s account. Students may wish to check with the service provider as to when funds will be available.

NOTE:

Any student who had a BC Student Loan in a previous year should, at the time of negotiating their Canada Student Loan document, also complete a Certificate 2 to keep their BC Student Loan interest-free until such time as a new BC Student Loan is negotiated (usually half-way through academic year). Failure to file this document could cost money, as the lending institution will assume the student’s period of study ceased on the end date indicated on the previous loan document. If no new document is on file, the student will be required to start making payments on the BC Student Loan.
