Alberta Heritage Scholarship Fund
Awards available to Alberta residents, who are enrolled or plan to enroll as full-time students in a graduate program in an institution outside the Province of Alberta. BBM Scholarship
$2,500 awarded annually to a student enrolled in a graduate studies program, or in the final year of an Honours degree with the intention of entering a graduate program. Student must have demonstrated achievement in and knowledge of statistical and/or quantitative research methodology in a course of study at a Canadian university or post secondary institution. Canadian Federation of University Women Awards
Fellowships and awards offered to female Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents who hold at least a Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized university and have been accepted into graduate program for the current academic year. Canadian Nurses Foundation – Certification Award
Two award recipients will be randomly selected from among the sTRUessful candidates in each certification specialty. The award will consist of reimbursement of the certification fee.
Canadian Nurses Foundation – Research Grants
Research proposals pertaining to Nursing practice, education or administration are considered for funding. Research grants range from $5000 to $15000. Deadline: June 15
Canadian Nurses Foundation – Study Awards
Various awards are available to nurses pursuing education at the baccalaureate, masters and doctoral levels. Although many awards are not dedicated to specialty areas, a number are available for specific areas of practice such as Northern Nursing, Occupational Health, Operating Room, Dialysis Nursing, Neurological Nursing, Oncology Nursing, Community Health, Gerontology Nursing, Pediatric Nursing and Nursing Administration. Deadline: April 15.
Canadian Nurses Foundation – Ross Award for Nursing Leadership
An award of $1,000, a commemorative memento, travel to and accommodation at the award ceremony and a photographic session will be awarded to a Canadian nurse who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and who has made a major contribution to the field of Nursing research or education in any of its aspects, including education of the public. Deadline: October 15.
Applicants to any CNF Awards must be members of CNF, Canadian citizens and agree to work in Canada for a period of one year for each year of financial assistance. Application forms are available from the CNF, 50 Driveway, Ottawa, Ont. K2P 1E2.
Celanese Canada Internationalist Fellowships
The Celanese Canada Internationalist Fellowships (CCIF) provide opportunities for Canadians to study abroad in order to build their international competence. Targeted at outstanding university graduates of proven academic merit and demonstrated personal suitability, fellowships of $10,000 each will be awarded on a competitive basis. Application is open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents who hold at least one university degree, or are in the final year of a degree program. Applicants must have achieved high academic standing in their university studies. Eremko, Bill W. – Memorial Law Fellowship
Awarded to a graduate who has been accepted at a Canadian Law School. Preference to a student attending UBC or the University of Victoria. Please contact the TRU Financial Aid and Awards office for application criteria. Deadline for submission: November 1.
Frazier, Robert – Memorial Fellowship
Awarded annually to a TRU Science graduate who is accepted to, or enrolled in graduate studies in Science or Health Sciences. Applicant must be a full time Masters students. This award is available to all Science graduates past and present. Preference will be given to students enrolled in the TRU Master of Science in Environmental Science program.
Application deadline is July 30th.

Harrison, James M. – Bursary
In memory of Dr. James M. Harrison, C.C., the founding Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Science Institute of the Northwest Territories, $1500 will be awarded to a third-year, fourth-year or graduate student enrolled in natural sciences in a university or college. Award is for one year with the possibility of renewal for a second year. Applicants must be residents of the western Northwest Territories and be preparing for a career in the Northwest Territories. Learning Disabilities Association of Canada – Doreen Kronick Scholarship
$500 available annually to a student whose program of study will lead to that individual being able to assist persons with learning disabilities. Mackenzie King Open Scholarship
One scholarship is available annually to graduates of any Canadian university who propose to engage in full-time post-graduate studies in any field. Mackenzie King Travelling Scholarship
This scholarship is open to graduates of any Canadian university who desire to engage in post-graduate studies in the United States or the United Kingdom, in the field of international relations or industrial relations. McDonald, Jake – Memorial Scholarship for Mine Reclamation
A total of $2,000 in scholarships is available annually in honour of Jake McDonald, former Senior Reclamation Inspector in B.C. Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources. Students must be registered in post-secondary studies in B.C., have high academic standing and a genuine interest in the mining industry in the province and in maintenance of the environment of British Columbia. Applying students must be actively involved in mine reclamation, pollution prevention, environmentally sound mine planning, or any aspect of mine land rehabilitation. NSERC Scholarships
The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council offers scholarships for students working towards a master’s or doctoral degree in Engineering, the Natural Sciences, or Psychology. Public Health Bursaries/Scholarships
Applicants are invited from qualified students who are or who wish to engage in post-graduate study in a field of Public or Community Health Practice within any recognized discipline. Science Council of British Columbia Award – GREAT
Scholarship available to encourage research collaboration with industry in BC. Must be a graduate student in the areas of natural or applied sciences from one of BC’s universities. Further information available at www.scbc.org. Deadline: January 31.
Sisam Forestry Award
$1000 award available to full-time undergraduates and graduates at a Canadian University. The award will be granted for a published article dealing with forestry or forest-environment subjects. Soroptimist foundation of Canada – Canadian Soroptimist Grants for Women
The Soroptimist Foundation of Canada offers several $7500 grants to female graduate students in Canada to assist them with university studies which will qualify them for careers which will improve the quality of women’s lives. Soroptimist International of the Americas Awards – Western Canada Regional Fellowship Award
$3000 to encourage women to proceed with post-graduate studies. Application forms available from the Financial Aid and Awards Office. Deadline: December 1.
SSHRC (Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada)
Social Sciences and Humanities Research offers scholarships to students working towards their Masters in the Social Sciences and Humanities. Further information and application forms are available at www.sshrc.ca . Deadline: The deadline for applications from Canadian universities to SSHRC is January 15.
St. John Ambulance Bursaries
Bursaries from the St. John Ambulance (Margaret MacLaren Memorial Fund) will be awarded for study in Canada to student nurse applicants entering diploma programs or advancing their nursing education in Baccalaureate programs. Bursaries from this fund may also be awarded to experienced Registered Nurses for study at the Masters level. Preference will be given to qualified applicants affiliated with St. John Ambulance.
