Kamloops Regional Farmers' Market Society Award - External Award Description.

One award of $1,000 will be presented to a student who has worked in or is

planning to work in promoting local food security. The award will be

paid upon proof of enrollment at an accredited college or university.

Application criteria:

1. Students must submit an essay of 500--1,000 words on the importance of food

sovereignty and/or food security, and how their past experience or

future plans will further these goals. Alternatively, students can

arrange for an interview with the committee to present their research

and knowledge on these issues.

2. Students must provide a copy of their most recent transcript.

3. Preference will be given to applicants living within the geographical area of the Kamloops Regional Farmers' Market Society.

Applications must be received by July 15th.
