The Student Aid BC program year runs from August 1 to July 31. You can find details describing the program in full on the web site. You apply for funding for one year at a time and apply for the entire academic year, not on a semester basis. The online application usually opens by the end of May, with paper applications following several weeks later. Our office has a computer available to any student wishing assistance with the on-line application.

Program
The purpose of the Student Aid BC Program is to assisy students considered residents of BC who do not have sufficient funds to finance their post-secondary education. The program is need-based, with need determined by means of a standard government assessment.
Student Aid BC Funding and Split Enrollment
If you are taking credit courses from more than one institution at the same time, this is referred to as split enrollment. You may be considered for Student Aid BC funding only if the course(s):
- is offered with the same start and end dates as those at your home school; and
- is being taken from an officially designated school; and
- is an essential element of your program; and
- will count for credit towards your certificate, diploma or degree at your home school; and
- is not offered by the home school, or is oversubscribed (full); and
- the Financial Aid Advisor at your home school has approved your course(s) for split enrollment.
